Perfect time of my life

My internship with the Columban Center for Advocacy and Outreach came at the perfect time of my life, and I can’t help but think that this wasn’t by accident. This organization is purely based off of doing what is right; helping those in need and being the voice for those who often go unheard. This is what I strive to do in my everyday life but sometimes it’s hard not to get wrapped up in my own problems. Being around other people of faith, meeting and working with the other interns, and being in an environment that promotes doing good and being in relationship with others has provided the breath of fresh air that I desperately needed in my life. Getting to work on issues that I am passionate about while surrounded by faith is exactly the mix that I hope to find in my career after college. It is encouraging to me that organizations like the CCAO exist. With all of the bad news that we read daily in the news it is sometimes hard to remain optimistic that there are places out there solely focused on doing what is right without corruption. This internship not only strengthened my own personal faith but also my faith that God will put the opportunities before me that will lead me down the path I’m supposed to be on. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity I had to intern with the CCAO this semester.
