God’s Hand in Our Lives

On June 25, the CCAO welcomed Columban Father Tim Mulroy to lead us in a day of recollection which was grounded in exploring our personal journeys of faith and service. In hearing each others’ stories we hear our own in new ways that offer insight and perspective. In telling our stories we become more self-aware and begin to see patterns and dots that are connected and signs of God’s hand in our lives.

Gloria offers this reflection of the day, “Fr. Tim’s company gave us the opportunity to reflect on life experiences, moments that have marked us in different ways to become the people we are today. We remember how important it is to take the time to reflect and spend time alone with God, hear his voice in the noise around us and see what is in our hearts.”

The next day we went to Capitol Hill to meet with members of the House of Representatives to ask for their support of the Water for the World Act. Our interns Roselle Agdipa led our delegation and Gloria Soto shared her own personal experience of life with limited access to clean and safe water.

In between the many congressional visits our interns Grant Goodman and David Salgado led an interfaith prayer vigil in the shadows of the Capitol and Supreme Court calling for a federal budget based on faith principles.
