Life moves fast.
Seven weeks ago, our group of summer interns arrived, and this week we say thank you and farewell. I am always surprised at how quickly they jump in and get their hands working in the political soil. They’ve learned about writing letters to members of Congress, mobilizing local communities through action alerts, and connecting their faith to social justice action.
One thing I noticed is how Columban mission is enriched because of their presence and commitment. While their time with us is short, the skills they learn are with them for a lifetime of giving of themselves for a better world. We strive to share in the journey with them even after they’ve cleared their desks. We give thanks for their enthusiasm and belief that another world is possible.
