Columbans thankful for support of LAOH

Fr. Mike Dodd
August 10, 2010

The Columban Fathers are most grateful for the support of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH). They have been a loyal and committed partner with us in our missionary efforts for such a long time.

It was a distinct pleasure for me to attend their 95th Biennial National Convention and be present at all the proceedings and, in particular, the opening and closing Eucharistic liturgies at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains in Cincinnati.

Sr. Corona Colleary and myself were the invited guests representing the Columban Sisters and the Columban Fathers respectively. The Columban Fathers have been the principal charity of the LAOH since 1935 when the late Bishop Galvin was invited to attend and address their convention. The Columban Sisters became a charity more recently in 2006.

The 95th Biennial Convention of the LAOH was held July 7 to 11.
