Last Words from the Cross #3

Woman, behold your Son. Son, behold your Mother.

Woman, behold your Son. Son, behold your Mother.

Mary your mother beholds you on the Cross, and sees your tortured body gasping for breath in agony before her. Now a sword pierces her own soul also as she shares in your Passion. You ask John to look after her as his own mother. She stands at the foot of your Cross, your sorrowful Mother, and our mother also.

Lord, we honor your mother
As she stands at the foot of the Cross,
Sharing your sufferings and your mission,
Mother of Sorrows for the sake of us all.
As she is with you at the hour of death
So we ask her help in our own sufferings.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners, now,
And at the hour of our death!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God and of Mary,
May you holy mother intercede
And help me in my hour of need!
