Father, into your hands I commit my spirit

You have finally come to the end of your suffering. Now is the moment of death when you breathe your last and finally bow your head. You have given yourself up to death for us all, while we are yet sinners. Now you give yourself into the hands of the Father. You came from the Father, and now it is to the Father that you return.

Lord, I entrust my life into your hands.
I hand over to your care
The burden of my cares.
I entrust to your safe-keeping
All my problems, my sins, my faults.
I commit to you all my worries, my concerns.

We praise you, O Christ, and we bless you,
For you have taken to yourself
The cares of the whole world!

Lord Jesus Christ, the Beginning and End,
I entrust my life to you, my friend!
