Amen I say to you: This very day you will be with me in paradise

Even as you are dying, when a criminal asks you to remember him, you do not refuse his prayer. His act of faith, his prayer humbly offered, you promise not to forget. Even more, you promise Paradise.

Lord, we ask you to remember us,
To remember our prayers,
To hold us in your loving heart.
When we feel the burdens of life
Help us to trust in you,
to trust that no prayer goes unheeded,
No words to you are ever uttered in vain.

As I see your compassion to a criminal
Your desire to answer his prayer,
Help me to believe, to hope, to trust
In your promise of eternal life.

Lord Jesus Christ, Lord of the Universe,
Through whom everything came to be
In your kingdom please remember me!
