Hear, Lord, the prayers we offer from contrite hearts. Have pity on us as we acknowledge our sins. Lead us back to the way of holiness. Protect us now and always from the wounds of sin. May we ever keep safe in all its fullness the gift your love once gave us and your mercy now restores. Amen.
Hail, O Queen of Heaven enthroned! Hail, by angels Mistress owned Root of Jesse, Gate of morn, When the world's true Light was born. Glorious Virgin, joy to thee, Loveliest whom in Heaven they see: Fairest thou where all are fair, Plead with Christ our sins to spare.
Give me Yourself, O my God, give Yourself to me. Behold I love You, and if my love is too weak a thing, grant me to love You more strongly. I cannot measure my love to know how much it falls short of being sufficient, but let my soul hasten to Your embrace and never be turned away until it is hidden in the secret shelter of Your presence. This only do I know, that it is not good for me when You are not with me, when You are only outside me. I want You in my very self. All the plenty in the world which is not my God is utter want. Amen.
Hearken, O Lord, and have mercy, for we have sinned against You. Crying, we raise our eyes to You, Sovereign King, Redeemer of all. Listen, Christ, to the pleas of the supplicant sinners. Hearken, O Lord, and have mercy, for we have sinned against You. You are at the Right Hand of God the Father, the Keystone, the Way of salvation and Gate of Heaven, cleanse the stains of our sins. Hearken, O Lord, and have mercy, for we have sinned against You. O God, we beseech Your majesty to hear our groans; to forgive our sins.
Almighty and Eternal God, Give me, I beseech You, the great gift of inward peace. Command the winds and storms of my unruly passions. Subdue, by Your grace, my proneness to love created things too much. Give me a love of suffering for Your sake. make me forbearing and kind to others, that I may avoid quarrels and contentions. And teach me constantly to seek after and to acquire that perfect resignation to Your Holy Will which alone brings interior peace. Amen.
O Lord Jesus Christ, in presenting ourselves before Your adorable Face to ask of You the graces of which we stand most in need, we beseech You above all, to grant us that interior disposition of never refusing at any time to do what You require of us by Your holy Commandments and Divine inspirations. Amen.
My soul, dilate my heart; my Jesus loves me ardently. I hope for great favors from the Lord, Who comes to me with love. Yes, my Jesus, my hope, I trust in Your goodness, that in giving Yourself to me this morning, You will kindle in my poor soul the flames of Your pure love, and of an ardent desire to please You, that, from this day forward, I may wish only what You wish.
O my God! I love You, with my whole heart and soul, and above all things, because You are infinitely good and perfect, and most worthy of all my love; and for Your sake, I love my neighbor as myself. Mercifully grant, O my God! that having loved You on earth, I may love and enjoy You forever in heaven. Amen.
Absolute and all knowing God, Nothing is hidden from Your sight. In the prescience since the beginning, All knowledge existed within You. Kindly share Your knowledge with me, Making me aware of what is meant to be, Permitting my soul to understand it, And wisdom to agree with its outcome. Provide me with the gift of discretion, To prudently apply received knowledge, To ensure the fulfillment of Your Will. Your knowledge shines forth forever!
O Lord Jesus Christ, who gave us your Mother Mary, whose renowned image we venerate, to be a Mother ever ready to help us; grant we beseech You, that we who constantly implore her motherly aid, may merit to enjoy perpetually the fruits of Your redemption, Who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen. – Pope Piux IX
Dear Jesus, Difficulties, pain, limitations are part of life but not the heart of life. Some days I find them hard to bear. Your friendship helps to turn my attention away from the hurt. You help me to see all things as gift even those I wish to avoid. You teach me to appreciate myself as I am, and at the same time to value all that exits. You show me how to discern the truth and worth of everyone and everything. Above all, you show me that to live is to love. Amen. – Columban Fr. John Comisky
Lord Jesus Christ, You gave your life out of love for all people, help me to believe that Christian love is the greatest power in the world. Let me see that this is not an emotion, but a central attitude of one's being, an attitude of service for others in Your Name. It is the result of your grace, and prompts us to will only good things for others as images of God. Grant that I may always strive to attain this attitude and so live up to the noble vocation to which I am called. Amen.
My Lord, I offer you my thoughts: to be fixed on you; My words: to have you for their theme; My actions: to reflect my love for you; My sufferings: to be endured for your greater glory. I want to do what you ask of me: In the way you ask, For as long as you ask, Because you ask it. Lord, enlighten my understanding, Strengthen my will, Purify my heart, and make me holy. Help me to repent of my past sins And to resist temptation in the future. Help me to rise above my human weaknesses And to grow stronger as a Christian. Amen.
Almighty God, our Father, you who have given us life and intended us to have it forever, grant us your blessings. Enlighten our minds to an awareness and to a renewed conviction that all human life is sacred because it is created in your image and likeness. Help us to teach by word and the example of our lives that life occupies the first place, that human life is precious because it is the gift of God whose love is infinite. Give us the strength to defend human life against every influence or action that threatens or weakens it, as well as the strength to make every life more human in all its aspects.
O Lord, it is through the examples of the Divine model of Nazareth that the Christian family is to be restored in Jesus Christ and to recover its former respect and dignity. Then every home will again become a sanctuary and in every household will be rekindled the flame of faith to teach patience in adversity and moderation in prosperity and to promote order, peace and harmony in all things. Under Your paternal gaze, O Lord, and with confidence in Your Providence and in the loving patronage of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, the family will become a sanctuary of virtue and a school of wisdom. It shall prove, as Christ has promised, a haven of rest against life's burdens. In the sight of the world it shall render glory to You, O Father, and to Your Son, Jesus, until the day when, through Him, we shall, together with all His members, sing the Divine praises in the eternal ages to come. Amen.
