Throughout the Bible and our faith tradition, food has a center place at God’s table. From Jesus’s act of multiplying the loaves and fishes to the sacramental act of transforming wine and bread to the Body and Blood of Christ, food ties us together as Easter people.
Yet our food system faces many challenges. There are still hungry people. Less and less farmland is available to grow food, especially for small farmers and indigenous people around the world. These are but a few of the threats to global food security that Columban missionaries see every day in the countries where we serve.
In this season of Resurrection and over the course of Earth Month, the Columban Center for Advocacy and Outreach invite you to join us on an Eucharist E-journey. Each week through April 29th you will receive an email where you can learn, pray, and act to ensure the whole of creation flourish under our food system.
