Fr. Kevin Mullins with youth from the Corpus Christi Parish

Fr. Mullins has been working with the people of Ciudad Juaraz and Anapra, Mexico, for over nine years. Reports about the ongoing drug war and increasing violence in the area are frequently in the news.

In short, it is a violent and dangerous area for everyone living there. Most of the people living in the area are economically poor and undereducated. The living conditions are difficult, and there is an urgent need for programs to keep young people in school and away from the drug trade. The focus of Fr. Mullins’ work is to prevent the youth from succumbing to the lure of the drug trade, to keep them away from the violence.

Fr. Mullins will speak on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at the Korean Catholic Community, 3390 Glencolum Drive, San Diego, California see location on map. The reception and presentation will begin at 2:45 p.m. and will be followed by Mass.

The presentation is open to the public and free of charge.
