Weekly Prayer

Flowers are blooming, signs of hope and joy.
Dear Jesus Your rising from the dead gives
the promise of new life.

Dear Jesus, at times I feel empty within.
Slowing down and remembering all the things
for which I am thankful, gives an opening to real prayer

Dear Jesus, Days grow longer and hopefully a bit warmer.
Lent is upon us, a time for renewal and new life.

A shimmer of light I saw
Beckoning me to go…. Ah! HOPE
To freedom I go
Out of this dark, cold, filthy tunnel
Where fear, anguish and chaos exist.

When I’m not feeling well,
and tired, I can get so down,
down with others,
down with myself,

Lord, just as a flower can radiate its precious beauty,
and cast its fragrance everywhere, so I ask You

Lord, time is so precious.
Time to heal and be healed,
time to sort myself out, to understand,
to get it all together, to see Your hand.

Lord, I made a vow to my spouse and to You.
It was never my desire to undo this vow.

Lord, bless us in our reflections and ideas:
No matter the doubts they are seeds
seeking nourishment, sunshine and life-giving water.

Lord, as a water lily
opens itself to the sun,
so may we open our hearts to you,
to give you thanks and praise.

Often, instead of loving You, I seem to fear You.
I move away from your gaze, not sure, not ready to trust You.

So much in life makes me feel small, even trivial.
I feel so dwarfed by this world, powerful things, powerful people.

God, open up our hearts to be filled with love.
Open them up. Fill them with faith and hope,
and chase away our anxieties and fears.

It’s easy, to turn my back, to feel offended, hurt.
Lord, ease my bitterness, my selfish sense
of hurt ego, dented pride.

Lord, I thank You.
You love us all equally,
with unswerving love,
a love beyond measure.

Lord, by the power of Your holy cross,
take away from my heart all hatred,

How often, Lord, I wish to stretch across the miles
and touch loved ones far away or be whisked
on an angel’s wings to their very side.

Life is full of wonders each day;
we live in a universe that is a
temple of His glory.

I thank you, Lord,
for the blessings and for favors
bestowed on me this day.

May the Lord be with you
in your journey in life;
may He look after you
and keep you from harm;

Lord, in this time of tribulation
hear the prayer we offer
for our suffering world.
May we be united in hope

Loving Jesus,
Thank you for the invitation to come
and see where you live.
We believe Your Spirit will be with us

Lord, thank You for being at my side
on my journey through life.

For helping me at the moments
when I really need a helping hand.

God, do You see me?
Do You know I am here?
I feel as if You have abandoned me or are unaware.
Even my loved ones and friends don't keep me company.

How can children be happy in the midst of misery?
But they are.
They play and laugh and joke like children anywhere,

Lord, You work in mysterious ways.
It’s not always easy to see the patterns You weave in life.

Lord, upon the cross You cried:
"Father, forgive them; they do not know
what they are doing." (Luke 23:34)

Lord, I am in pain.
I live with fear and anger.
My tormentor mocks me, treating me as an object.

Mighty God, the fountain of all wisdom:
Enlighten by Your Holy Spirit those who teach
and those who learn, that, rejoicing

O merciful Creator, Your hand is open wide
to satisfy the needs of every living creature.
Make us always thankful for Your loving providence;

I Thank You, Lord, for blessings
and for favors bestowed on me
this day.

Just to say Thank You
for showing that you care.
Just to say Thank You
I offer now this prayer.

"For I am well aware of my offenses,
my sin is constantly in mind." (Psalm 51: 3)

"Why do You reject me, Lord?
Why hide Your face from me?" (Psalm 88: 15)

God, I live the words spoken in the book of Job:
“A shiver of horror ran through me

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of education,
and the knowledge and the opportunities it brings.

Heavenly Father, whose blessed Son
came not to be served but to serve:
Bless all who, following in his steps,

Lord, give us missionaries
who have enthusiasm for the Gospel,
zeal for the salvation of Your people,
courage in leadership,

Holy Spirit, as we rejoice in the blessings of liberty,
we remember those who have sacrificed their lives
to secure and protect our freedoms.

Giver of all good gifts,
let Your Spirit be at the center of our lives
as we share in the work of building Your kingdom.

Heavenly Father,
As the sun rises higher in the sky
and the days grow longer,
we thank You for the gift of summer.

O Lord, seize us with Your power and light,
help us to protect all life,
to prepare for a better future,
for the coming of Your Kingdom

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit,
that my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit,
that my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit,

Dear God,
We ask for Your protection and guidance
as we navigate through the summer.

All-powerful God, You are present in the whole universe
and in the smallest of Your creatures.
You embrace with Your tenderness all that exists.

Heavenly Father,
Be with us as we seek after truth,
justice and peace hear on earth.
And, when our life on earth is ended,

Holy Spirit, by your light
you guide this world towards the Father's love
and accompany creation as it groans in travail.
You also dwell in our hearts

Loving God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
We thank You for uniting us with You
and with one another by filling us
with Your own divine life.

Almighty God, by the hand of Mark the evangelist
You have given to Your Church the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Holy Father, thank You for sowing
Your word in our hearts.
Deepen the roots You have given us
so that by Your power we may stand strong

Heavenly Father, you have called us into
Your household of faith and made us
brothers and sisters in Christ.

Flowers are blooming, signs of hope and joy.
Dear Jesus, Your rising from the dead
gives the promise of new life.

All-powerful Lord, thank You for the grace
You have given me to proclaim the truth

Heavenly Father, thank You for the way
that You have sown the seed of Your holy Word
into my own life.

Glorious Father, I thank You for Your mercy
and forgiveness in my life.
I thank You for freeing me from all sin.

My dear Lord, I desire deeply to become
more fully a member of Your most intimate family in grace.

Merciful Jesus, I sin every day and will continue
to fail to follow You with perfection.

Gracious God,
You hear the prayers of Your children.
Thank You for the privilege of bringing to You

Mighty Lord You have set us down
in the middle of Your creation
and given us work to do.
Give us also the things of the new creation

Holy Father You fashioned the universe
and made order from chaos.
Thank You for bringing order to our lives.

God You have called us from among the peoples
and nations of the world to be Your own.
Thank You for the love that You have shown us

O God, by the preaching of Your apostle Paul
You have caused the light of the Gospel
to shine throughout the world: Grant, we pray,

Almighty Father, who inspired Simon Peter,
first among the apostles, to confess Jesus
as Messiah and Son of the living God:

Lord, just a few moments with You,
a few thoughts shared between us,
the sense of Your friendship can be more healing
and refreshing than a mountain scene,…

Dear Jesus,
You were true to Your Father’s desire for the full life
for all people and the whole of creation.
We falter in following You, letting our own

O God, as this year comes to an end,
we pray for the people of the world:
for the young and old;
for women and men;
for the hungry, the poor

Dear Jesus, we prepare ourselves
for Your coming among us –
Your first coming at Bethlehem,
Your coming again at the end of time

God, give us the power to be tolerant
of other races, cultures, people and beliefs.
We find ourselves emerged in a world

Heavenly Father, today we give thanks
for the many individuals who sponsor
Columban missionaries around the world.
Your sponsorship makes it possible

O Lord, We pray today for peace
in Ukraine and around the world.
We pray to keep the people safe
and that no more destruction will come

Lord God, thank you for gracious mercy.
Help us look to you for grace and forgiveness
and support one another in faith
with the promise of your word.

Gracious God, we confess that
we cannot come to You by our own strength.
Thank You for coming to us through Jesus Christ.

Dear Jesus, Advent begins
on the last Sunday of November.
We prepare ourselves for Your coming
among us – for Your first coming

Dear Jesus, in reflecting on All Saints
and All Souls Feast Days,
I recall St. Thomas More's prayer,
"Pray for me, as I for thee,

Lord, bless us in the yearnings of your hearts:
No matter how subtle,
they are energy urging us forward
in our quest for God and for others.

You have blessed me with good things and plenty,
and surrounded my table with friends.
Their love and their laughter enrich me.

'Til the end of my days, O Lord
I will bless Your name,
sing Your praise, give You thanks,
all my days.

Lord, bless us in our searching and our questions:
The way to wisdom, enlightenment
and peace, the way to our hearts.
May the Lord bless us in our gifts:

Lord, you created a beautiful world for us to dwell.
Thank you for coming to us through earthly,
natural means to confirm your word

Lord God, you alone deserve our worship and praise.
Thank you for the opportunities you provide for us
to hear your Word and for bringing people

Father you have provided the means
by which the life of your Son has come to us.
Thank you for the Gospel and keep our ears open
to hear it new each day.

God you send us to be lights in a dark world.
With the power of your Spirit and your Word,
we have the courage to confess our faith

Dear Jesus, You are our brother.
You have taken us by the hand
and lead us to join with You
in the work of justice, mercy and healing.

Dear Jesus, I try to read slowly the story
of Your birth as written in the Gospels
of Sts. Matthew and Luke.
I ask what meaning do these words

Dear Jesus, at times I feel empty within.
Slowing down and remembering all the things
for which I am thankful provides an opening

Dear Jesus, I get so caught up in my doings
that I am scarcely aware of Your presence.
Yet when things go wrong or when I just seem

Dear Jesus, I try to come to You as I am,
though I know that I do try to give a good appearance,
to show off my best self.

Dear Jesus, at times we get caught up
in the tasks of doing things.

The busyness of our lives may harden us.

Jesus, we, Your followers, live in an in-between world.

We know by Faith of Your victory over sin and death
through Your Life, death and Resurrection.

Heavenly Father, change is always difficult
but necessary for our society to grow.

Lord, in the past missionary activity was sometimes
seen by local people as just another arm of colonial rule.

Lord, we thank you for St Joseph
and for his role within the history of salvation.

Lord, we ask your blessing on Pope Francis
who now holds the office first given to Peter.

Lord, there is something in our nature
that constantly wants to explore what is around us.
For generations humans looked at the moon and the stars

Lord, so many people in our world have been displaced
and are seeking sanctuary.

Lord, we recognize that our health is linked to the health of our planet.

Gracious God, the census called by Caesar Augustus
brought Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem.
It was there that Jesus was born.

Lord, we pray that all of creation be given
the kind of protection that is given
to our national parks and marine reserves.

Dear Lord, when the scriptures are read
during mass, we acknowledge that it is Your word.
Guide us when we use the scriptures for our own prayer.

Dear God, it has been said that “truth is the first causality of war”.
As we pray for the people of Ukraine, we ask that justice
and peace may prevail.

Merciful God, Jesus calls us
to be as you are - full of compassion.
We ask that we be helped to let go of hatred
before it begins to warp our lives. …

Lord we live in a time of rapid change.
It can be hard to keep up.
Be with those who struggle when change.

God give strength and comfort to families and communities
around the world who are in mourning for loved ones
but carrying the extra burden of not knowing

Lord, today I ask for your blessing on those who are living
in desperate times with little hope for the future.

Almighty God, You alone can bring into order
the unruly wills and affections of sinners.
Grant Your people grace to love

Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ
came down from heaven to be the true bread
which gives live to the world:
Evermore give us this bread,

God our Father,
You sent Saint Patrick
to preach Your glory to the people of Ireland.
By the help of his prayers,

Father in heaven, thank you for the gift of life.
You have protected us through the night
and have enabled us to wake up this morning.

Our Father, sometimes the cares of the day
seem to multiply, while the blessings fade so quickly.
Our bodies grow tired and our minds even more tired.

Dear God, give me the courage to begin again,
to overlook the difficulties,
to overcome the obstacles
and to stay open to the moment as best I can.

Lord, we ask for Your wisdom,
for Your strength and power
to be constantly present within us.
We pray You would make us strong

O God, who before the passion of Your only-begotten Son
revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us

O God, who before the passion of Your only-begotten Son
revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us

Most loving Father, whose will it is for us
to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing
but the loss of You, and to cast all our care

O Lord, You have taught us that without love
whatever we do is worth nothing:
Send Your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts

O God, the strength of all who put their trust in You:
Mercifully accept our prayers;
and because in our weakness
we can do nothing good without you,

Set us free, O God, from the bondage of our sins,
and give us the liberty of the abundant life
which You have made known to us

O God, who wonderfully created,
and yet more wonderfully restored,
the dignity of human nature:
Grant that we may share the divine life

Lord, every human is created in Your image
and is a sacred member of Your family.
Forgive me for the times I have ignored,
disregarded or disrespected

Mary, dear woman of God pray for us,
that we can be spiritual people of quality,
of promise, of welcoming presence.
Help us to be full of hospitality,

O God, You make us glad by the yearly festival
of the birth of Your only Son Jesus Christ.
Grant that we, who joyfully receive Him as our redeemer,

Stir up Your power, O Lord,
and with great might come among us;
and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins,

Heavenly Father, in this time of hustle and bustle
give me a humble heart to hear Your quiet voice.
Teach me to be calm and listen to You

Heavenly Father all-powerful,
Your gifts of love are countless
and Your goodness infinite.
On Thanksgiving Day we come before You

Lord, I am truly sorry for having offended You.
How often have I professed my love for You
and how often I have failed miserably.

Dear Jesus, I have been doing some good things,
but at other times just spinning my wheels.
Gradually, I have come to realize

Dear Jesus, when I look back at my life
I recall the many people who have influenced me.
Things that they did or said struck me
and formed part of who I am.

Dear Jesus,

Dear Jesus,

Dear Jesus,

Dear Jesus,

Dear Jesus,

Dear Jesus,

Dear Jesus,

Dear Jesus,

Dear Jesus,
We hope for many things - success, adequate resources,
health for ourselves and for those dear to us,
and other genuinely good desires.

The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I dedicated you…”

Lord help me to forgive as I have been forgiven.
Sometimes I glide over the words
of your prayer the Our Father.

Lord there are so many reasons
to be fearful in our world today.
Help me to realize that you are always with me.

If God wants to place me in vulnerable situations
I accept that God is leading me - whatever happens, happens.
Jesus tells us not to be afraid though bad things

Sometimes I am amazed, Lord, at the people
you have chosen to do your work.
But you see beyond the superficial to the hidden goodness

Lord your words are spirit and life.
They give me the strength and wisdom I need
to be open to all the possibilities

As we read in Scripture God’s call may not come
in an earthquake or a fire or some other spectacular event.

Dear Lord much of what is going on
in my life seems to be of no use.
One day is the same as the day before and on and on.

While we endure this time of the virus
we might forget the gift of life You have given us.
Trials test but strengthen our faith.

At a time like this, the prayer, “hearken to our prayer
and attend to the sound of our pleading
”, is most appropriate.

I admit, Lord, that often I wonder "why the pandemic".
But I believe in you and your fidelity.
Comfort me with the hope that gives me

Fires and floods and climate disasters are all around us.
And then there is the virus.

Sometimes I wonder, Lord, why you allow so much evil in our world.
I wonder now why in this pandemic there is so much suffering.

Good and Gracious God,
We thank you for the resilience
and grace that you have given us
to bear this time of Covid virus.

Lord, I wonder if this pandemic will ever end.
How long do we need to suffer it all?
How long more will you ask us to be patient?

We are suffering under the COVID epidemic.
Lord help us to take the time to be silent and prayerful
and know that you are with us.

Jesus you have authority over all creation and all of us.
You became one of us to share in our difficulties and our hopes.

Lord Jesus Christ, come and save Your people
from this pandemic.
Heal us in mind and heart.

Come Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with your love
and bring us a cure for the Covid-19 virus.

St. Pope John Paul II said:

So many people are hurting during this time of pandemic.
The reports of deaths and sickness brings sadness

Lord Jesus Christ, you gaze on us with love and care,
Help us to bear the burdens of the day;
the illnesses, the isolation and loneliness.

Good and Gracious God,
We thank you for the resilience
and grace that you have given us
to bear this time of Covid virus.

These days there can be a feeling
of impending doom, O Lord.

Lord God you have created us
and made us to love others.

During this pandemic, we have found
out how much we need each other.

Some of us are very vulnerable at this time
of pandemic. We rely on the assistance of those who
are our neighbors.

Heavenly Father, we praise you for Your Love
and Faith which you give to us.

Dear Lord,
I like quick results.
In summer, I want the heat to leave soon.
In fall, I look for the peak color to come when I want it

How life has slowed down!
I used to be engaged in frenetic activity.
Now I am limited by constraints from Covid-19.

Lord as we suffer through this time of the virus
allow us to turn to you for strength and comfort.
I know that your saving help reaches out

During this time of the virus so many are suffering
in so many different ways.
Lord, I am tempted to wonder if you are really

Dear Lord I thought this virus would be over by now.
How long more must I wait?
How or when is this going to end?

Lord I believe that you will always care for us.
As it prays in the psalm “You have created
my inmost being you have knit me

Dear Jesus,
You came to show the real meaning of life.
You came to bring forgiveness and healing to a broken world.

Dear Lord Jesus,
When I look at other people’s houses from the outside,
I imagine they are all enjoying days of coziness and companionship.

Sometimes Lord I simply get tired of waiting
for things to get back to normal.
How long more?

Good and gracious God, at this time of pandemic
help us to know that we are not abandoned.

Dear Lord God,
it was steady and predictable
to live in stability for a long time.

There is a certain rhythm in our life cycle
of  birth, growth, aging and death.

Most merciful and Triune God,
We come to you in our weakness.
We come to you in our fear.
We come to you with trust.
For you alone are our hope.

Lord of all creation, we are reminded in this month of October
of your call to your followers, that, through our baptism

My Jesus, I desire to receive You into my soul.
I know that I am not worthy, but I come to You,
my Divine Physician, with humble faith

God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit -
let my life and leadership
reflect your influence.
Give me the strength to lead like Jesus,

Pulsating through our world, oceans and land
the tropics and artic, our home
flows the presence of God
loving a myriad of creation faces.

Gracious God. Hear this our prayer in these disturbing times.
We ask you to hear the sounds of those who are
gasping for each breath in hospitals, nursing homes

It is difficult to make sense of what is happening
in our world suffering from the virus.
We might be tempted to feel abandoned.

Dear Jesus,
I thank you from my heart
for the health and safety of my children.
It feels so good to see them full of life and happiness.

Lord, during this time of anxiety and distress
our patience can run thin.
Yet deep within us we know
that we can place our trust in you.

Lord you are my light and my salvation.
Whom or what should we fear?
As we hear in Paul’s letter to the Romans,

We have many problems and difficulties
that make us fearful at this time.
Lord, help us to have trust in your loving presence.

Lord, this year we may not have been able
to celebrate your Resurrection as we would have wanted.
But we are reminded that your Resurrection

“This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad.”
Sometimes it is difficult to pray that wonderful prayer.

Lord we remember that after the Resurrection
your disciples spent time isolated in the upper room.
They felt the loss of your presence.

Lord sometimes when we are frustrated or angry
we can be unkind to those we love the most.
This can be especially true during this time of stress

Lord you are kind and merciful.
You forgive us.
You are always available to welcome us back
after we have failed.

Lord show me how to be strong and patient
in this time of difficulty.
We have been challenged to live separated
from our loved ones.

Lord in our present suffering from the coronavirus we call to you.
You have delivered us from our fears in the past.

Dear Mother Mary, with this virus going around
I ask you to pray to Jesus for my grandchildren.
How I would love to make the world safe for them.

St. Columban of Mt. Leinster, Bangor, Luxeuil, Bregenz and Bobbio,
your name rings out across the world.
Come to our aid and rise up to help us in our need.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, listen to our prayer.
Give us your grace to be salt and light
at this time of pandemic:

It seems Lord God, that You are leading me to slow down.
Now, I have more time to think and reflect.
It is the Lenten season.

In these times, we are led to protect
ourselves and our neighbors.
Lord, strengthen us to be in solidarity
and protective of each other

Father of love and compassion, thank you for your forbearance.
How many times have we unthinkingly prayed the words,

Dear Jesus,
Like the apostles who were in a boat on that stormy Sea of Galilee,
we are feeling alone, uncertain, tired and afraid.

Lord Jesus, in your own time and down through the centuries
You became known as someone who could cure people through the power of God.

Under your protection, O Mary, we ask your help at this time.
Under your protection, O Blessed Virgin, we are confident in times of stress.

Dear St. Joseph,
The bible never quotes your words.
We know you through the gospels
as the protector of our Lord Jesus

Loving Lord, in this time of anxiety, give me serenity.
In this time of fear, give me confidence in You.
In this time of illness, help me preserve my health

Dear Lord, Jesus brought healing during his ministry on earth.
He healed the sick and brought the dead to life.

Almighty God, You know that we have
no power in ourselves to help ourselves.
Keep us both outwardly in our bodies

This Lent, Lord, help me leave behind the distractions
of my daily life and make this a time of spiritual retreat,

O God, whose glory is always to have mercy: Be gracious
to all who have gone astray from Your ways,
and bring them again with penitent hearts

To the God of constant change, transitions, transitions, transitions.
Some good, some bad, some mundane repetitions.
Sometimes I responded openly.

Almighty and everlasting God,
You hate nothing You have made
and forgive the sins of all who are penitent:
Create and make in us new and contrite hearts,

May you always be my hope, my trust, my riches,
my delight, my joy and gladness, my rest and quiet,
my food, my refreshment, my refuge and help,

Almighty and everlasting God,
You govern all things both in heaven and on earth:
Mercifully hear the supplications of Your people,

A Prayer in a Time of Drought

Creative and Nurturing God,
we weep in the face of dry land and bushfires,
dying crops and animals,

Give us grace, O Lord, to answer readily
the call of our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim
to all people the Good News of His salvation,

Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ
is the light of the world: Grant that Your people,
illumined by Your Word and Sacraments, may shine

Father in heaven, who at the baptism of Jesus
in the River Jordan proclaimed him Your beloved Son
and anointed him with the Holy Spirit: Grant that

O God, by the leading of a star you manifested
Your only Son to the peoples of the earth.
Lead us, who know You now by faith,

Eternal Father, you gave to your incarnate Son
the holy name of Jesus to be the sign of our salvation:
Plant in every heart, we pray, the love of Him

Almighty God, you have poured upon us
the new light of your incarnate Word:
Grant that this light, enkindled in our hearts,

Merciful God, who sent your messengers
the prophets to preach repentance
and prepare the way for our salvation:
Give us grace to heed their warnings

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mystical Rose,
make intercession for the Holy Church,
protect the Sovereign Pontiff,

Almighty God, during this Advent season,
kindle in every heart the true love of peace,
and guide with Your eternal wisdom

O Jesus, Divine Master,
I thank and bless Your most merciful Heart
for having given us Mary most holy as our Mother,
Teacher and Queen.

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is
to restore all things in Your well-beloved Son,
the King of kings and Lord of lords:

Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures
to be written for our learning: Grand us
so to hear them, read, mark, learn

O God, whose blessed Son came into the world
that He might destroy the works of the devil
and make us children of God and heirs of eternal life:

Almighty and merciful God, it is only by Your gift
that Your faithful people offer You true and laudable
service: Grant that we may run without stumbling

Almighty and everlasting God,
increase in us the gifts of faith, hope, and charity;
and, that we may obtain what you promise,
make us love what you command;

Almighty and everlasting God, in Christ
You have revealed Your glory among nations:
Preserve the works of Your mercy,
that Your Church throughout the world

Lord, we pray that Your grace
may always precede and follow us,
that we may continually
be given to good works;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,

Almighty and everlasting God,
You are always more ready to hear than we to pray,
and to give more than we either desire or deserve:

O God, You declare Your almighty power
chiefly in showing mercy and pity: Grant us
the fullness of Your grace, that we, running

Grant us, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things,
but to love things heavenly; and even now,
while we are placed among things that are passing away,

O God, because without You we are not able to please You,
mercifully grant that Your Holy Spirit may in all things

Grant us, O Lord,
to trust in you with all our hearts;
for, as you always resist the proud
who confide in their own strength,
so you never forsake those

Lord of all power and might,
the author and giver of all good things:
Graft in our hearts the love of your Name;
increase in us true religion;

Grant, O merciful God, that your Church,
being gathered together in unity by your Holy Spirit,
may show forth your power among all peoples,

Almighty God, you have given your only Son
to be for us a sacrifice for sin,
and also an example of godly life:
Give us grace to receive thankfully

Grant to us, Lord, we pray,
the spirit to think and do always
those things that are right, that we,
who cannot exist without You, may by You,

Let your continual mercy, O Lord,
cleanse and defend your Church;
and, because it cannot continue in safety without your help,

Heavenly Father, may your holiness purify me,
your wisdom direct me,
your power sustain me,
your mercy forgive me,
your patience bear with me and

I offer You, O Lord, my whole life, my memory,
my understanding and my whole will.
You have given them all to me: now I give them back to You.

Come summer with me, Lord;
summer deep down in my soul;
restore my faith in summer’s time,
in rest, in joy, in play, in you.

My Lord and My God, I am happy to acknowledge
that I came from Your hands, that I depend on You
for everything in time and eternity.

My Jesus, I love You.
I know that you “loved me and delivered Yourself for me."
I know, too, that You long for my love in return.

My God, I thank You
for your own great glory
for being so good in Yourself
for being so good to all of us
for being so good to me.

O God, You know our every thought and desire.
Cleanse our hearts through your Holy Spirit
of all our hidden faults
so that we may love you perfectly

I’m living now this present day.
That’s what I’m called to do today,
not dwell on problems from the past
that sadden or distract me now,

O Jesus, I believe that in the
holy sacrament of the Eucharist You
have really and truly come into my
inmost soul to share Your divine life with me.

O Lord, prepare my soul to receive You.
You have said, “He who eats my flesh
and drinks my blood lives in Me and I live

Mary, most Holy Virgin and mother,
I have received your beloved son, Jesus.
With love I give Him back to you,
to offer Him to the Most Holy Trinity

Soul of Christ, sanctify me;
body of Christ, save me;
blood of Christ, fill me with love;
water from Christ’s side, wash me;

Lord, may the stones of life’s hardships
be rolled away from our lives.
May we allow You to heal our wounds

Risen Jesus, you heal our broken hearts and give us peace.
Help me to be a source of encouragement
to those troubled by pain and suffering.

O Jesus, as You stood before the people
they clamored for You to be crucified,
and their shouts grew louder.
Pilate could find no case against You,

Happy are we who walk in His ways
and follow in His footsteps day by day.
Sharing our love with one another
and lightening the burdens of our brothers

Lord, I remember the place even though it was long ago.
It was a small clearing in the forest. I used to go there to spend some quiet time with You.

O Lord, we become fearful if things do not come out as we expect.
We are afraid of things unknown, of the outcome of
what we have done or have not done.

As we go about doing our work, oftentimes we become full of ourselves.
Everything we do centers on us and the world we want.

You are love. Your love is the source and being of our existence.
You continue to love us as we are with all our imperfections

Lord, You do nothing in vain;
You know what You are about.
You may take away my friends;
You may throw me among strangers.

Probe me, Lord, know my heart;
test me, know my thoughts.
Help me root out and resist the evil within me;
lead me along Your way.

Give me a new heart, O Lord,
and a new spirit put within me.
Remove my heart of stone;
give me a heart of flesh.
I know You have created me for a

Lord, You formed my inmost being;
You know me intimately;
nothing in me is hidden from You.
When I was being fashioned in my

Lord, You know me;  You understand my
most private thoughts. You can tune into
what I feel; You are familiar with all that I do or say.

Lord, through Your Son, You show us the path to life,
reaching out to others, especially to those in most need,

Lord, we pray for nothing to be given
 to us other than Yourself

You are our everything, our life,
our light, our food, our drink, our God.

Loving God, we may find You demanding,
but Jesus assures us: “My yoke is easy
 and My burden light.”

Lord, at times, we may turn away from You,
but we also find in You mercy and
forgiveness if we turn to You.

Lord, You sent Your Son into the world
so that we might have life.

Lord, you are the living Word of God
who came to dwell in hearts of all people.
Increase my desire and strengthen my will

Lord, help me to keep a balance this season.
Let me keep my buying in perspective,
not to spend more than I need to or can afford.

Saint Lucy, whose beautiful name
signifies light, By the light of Faith
which God bestowed upon you,
increase and preserve His light in my soul,

God Our Father we pray,
That through the intercession of St. Nicholas,
You will protect our children.
Keep them safe from harm,
And help them grow,

O Blessed Mother Mary, before your
marriage to the carpenter St. Joseph,
you were overshadowed by the Holy Spirit
and conceived a child.

Lord, we thank you
for the goodness of our people
and for the spirit of justice
that fills this nation.
We thank you for the beauty and fullness of the

Thank You, Lord, for bringing us together.
May we learn to appreciate one another more and more.
May we cherish the gift of each other.

Even though I can be so proud,
You humbled Yourself on a cross for me.

Even though I can be so selfish,
You rose to share Your life with me.

Dear God, thank you for the example of the Saints.
I desire to join in their company,
worshiping you forever in Heaven.

Hear O Blessed Virgin the prayers which we address you,
Our Lady of Rest as we are mindful of that
maternal love in which you receive your children.

Your are the one who created me and let me call You, “Father.”
That is the Grace of all Graces and cannot help but be called a miracle!

Even when I show You the thorny side of my character,
or when I’m sharp, unloving to those I love
unapproachable, or in a bad mood,

O God, You made us in Your own image
and redeemed us through Jesus Your Son.

Almighty God,
who called your servant Vincent de Paul
to serve you in the person of those in need:
Grant that we, following his example,

Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace,
who are Yourself our peace and reconciliation,
who so often said, “Peace to You,” grant us peace.

O everlasting and loving God,
I consecrate myself wholly to Your today.
Lt all my days offer you ceaseless praise,

St. Columban pray for us.

Heavenly Father, caring and loving God,
You never fail to help me when I
call upon You in my time of need.

God of Mercy and Compassion -

Loving Mary, Mother of Jesus and our mother too.
Thank you for always saying yes to God’s call.
We praise Jesus, the fruit of your yes.

Heavenly Father, You made the sunset
of my life more beautiful by unlocking the door
to eternal life through the death
and resurrection of Your Son.

Your day of birth …

Filled with possibilities. But mostly…
Filled with God.

O God, how precious I am to You.
Since the beginning of time,
You were there for me.

God, You are the source of all life.
You created me and formed me in my mother’s womb.
(Psalm 139)

In You, O God, I put my trust.

Jesus, we know You are calling us to follow
You just as You called Your first disciples.
You need us. You want us to be Your hands,

Lord of patience and kindness –

Today, again, I am in Your presence,
Your real presence, Your saving presence.
I adore You.
I am allowed by You to be before You here.

My soul magnifies the Lord
And My spirit rejoices in God my Savior.

Lord God, for a long time,
I disregarded brothers and sisters;

Neither did I show respect
for the earth and all of Your Creation.

O Lord of Peace, the world awaits.
It cries of children torn from families.
Of mothers broken and shattered.

Dear God, we thank You for the love
and many blessings You give Us.
May we cherish the gift of each other.
Help us to show our gratitude

May Thursday be a hope filled day,
That floods my fears with light,
A day that quiets all anxious thoughts
As I encounter Christ.

Loving God,
We believe You live among us
and the place where You are is Holy Ground,

Lord Jesus Christ, my heart
reaches out in gratitude.
You have raised me up
from the darkness.

Where will I go?
What road do I follow?
How long is this journey?
Will You be there when I arrive?

We sing our Alleluias today, for Jesus is risen.
Our souls proclaim the greatness of God,
Our spirits rejoice in our Risen Savior.

Lord, help me to show
compassion towards others,
as You show compassion to me;
help me to be forgiving towards others,
as You are forgiving to me;

At first
Mary didn’t sense
Your presence,
didn’t know it was You
there in the Garden.
When she realized,
her heart was filled
with joy.

Even though I can be so proud,
You humbled Yourself on a cross for me.

Even though I can be so selfish,
You rose to share Your life with me.

We thank you, Lord,
for all of the countless blessings
You have won for us,
for all of the graces
You have poured upon us,
for all the love

Thank you, Thank you;
the women and men murmur politely.
It was a crowded room of 93
people experiencing homelessness.

O God, Protector of all people and nations,
protect my family and friends at home
from the violence and evil of others.

Let not your hearts be troubled.
You who believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house there are many mansions.

Look down, O Lord,
from Your sanctuary
and from the high habitation of heaven,
and behold this sacred Victim,
which our great High Priest,

Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
You wanted all who are weary
To come to You for support.
Lord, I am worn out
By my inability to find work.

As the dawn breaks, Lord,
have mercy on me.
Strip away the sins that weaken me.
Mend my faults.
Cleanse my imperfection.

God Our Heavenly Father
You created the world to serve humanity's needs
and to lead them to You.
By our own fault

Father of Heaven and earth,
hear my prayer and show me the way to peace.
Guide each effort of my life
so that my faults and my sins

Heavenly Father,

We give you thanks for the privilege of sharing
the joy of the Gospel in many cultures.

We long for You, Oh Spirit of Light,
we long to know God,
we want to be one with Him,
our Divine God.
We want to be one with the Father,

Pour forth, we beg You, O Lord,
Your Grace into our hearts;
that as we have known the incarnation of Christ,
your Son by the message of an angel,

Lord,Give me strength and wisdom
to live this day as I should.

Father, you prepared the Virgin Mary
to be the worthy mother of Your Son.
You let her share beforehand
in the salvation Christ would bring by His death,

Sacred Heart of Jesus
today I wish to live in You,
in Your grace,
in which I desire at all costs to persevere.
Keep me from sin

Father all-powerful,
Your gifts of love are countless
and Your goodness infinite.
On Thanksgiving Day we come before You

Lord Jesus, Carpenter and King,
supreme Sovereign of all men,
look with tender mercy upon Your children

St. Gerard, who, like the Savior,
loved children so tenderly
and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death,

My God,
bestow Your blessings and Your mercies
on all persons
and on those souls in Purgatory
for whom I am in charity, gratitude, or friendship bound

O God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change
the courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help,

Christ be with me, Christ within me
Christ behind me, Christ before me
Christ beside me, Christ to win me
Christ to comfort me and restore me.

Behold me at Your feet, O Jesus of Nazareth,
behold the most wretched of creatures,
who comes into Your presence humbled and penitent!

Remember, most loving Virgin Mary,
never was it heard
that anyone who turned to you for help
was left unaided.

Remember, Heart of Jesus,
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
and you, O glorious St. Joseph,

Gracious God,
Ruler of the earth and its people
not by terror but in love;
we worship you.

Before the world was begun, O Lord
You had me in your mind
You gave me a place in your world, O Lord
To be gracious, forgiving and kind.

O glorious St. Joseph,
foster father of Jesus,
you did provide for the Holy Family.
We commit to your protection all our crops and farm industries.

O Angel of God,
make me worthy of your tender love,
your celestial companionship
and your never-failing protection!

O Almighty God,
you gave us the commandment
to honor our father and mother.
In your loving kindness
hear my prayer for my parents.

O Mary, full of grace and blessed among women,
stretch out the hand of your motherly protection
upon us who gather round

O Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother,
look down in mercy upon us

O my God,
in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary
I offer You the Precious Blood of Jesus
from all the altars throughout the world,

O my God, I give You heartfelt thanks
for all the graces You have conferred on me.
Pardon me, I beseech You,

O Lord, Let me unite with You,
that I may more deeply love You.
May I help make reparation to Your adorable Heart

Living Temple

Father, may I always remember
that all the parts of my body are good because you made them,
that my body does not belong to me but to you,

By the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Queen of Peace, set up Your kingdom in our country.
Enter closely into the midst of our families

My good Angel,
you come from heaven;
God has sent you to take care of me.
Oh, shelter me under your wings.

My holy Angel Guardian,
ask the Lord to bless any journey which I undertake,
that it may profit the health of my soul and body;

My soul,
open my heart;
so Jesus can give me every good gift;
He loves me ardently.
Hope, then,
for great favors from my Lord,

Merciful Lord, who prayed that there be one flock and one shepherd,
I ask the light of faith

Immaculate Mary, our Mother,
relying on your maternal intercession,
we resolve from this moment to devote our talents,

O Mary, our Mother,
be mindful of us as you stand near Him who granted you all graces,
for you are the Mother of God and our Queen.

Keep us, O God, from all pettiness.
Let us be large in thought, in word, in deed.
let us be done with fault-finding
and leave off all self-seeking.

Eternal Father,
turn away Your angry gaze from our guilty people
whose face has become unsightly in Your eyes.

O Lord, through your holy communion
may I be protected from evil.

Most Holy and adorable Trinity,
one God in three Persons,
I praise you and give you thanks
for all the favors you have bestowed on me.

Save us, Christ our Savior,
by the virtue of Your holy Cross:
You who saved Peter in the sea,
have mercy upon us.

All praise and glory are Yours, almighty Father:
You have given us Your Son Jesus to save us from sin.
We praise You for choosing Mary to be His mother,

Loving Father, faith in Your Word is the way to wisdom. Help me to think about Your Divine Plan that I may grow in the truth.

Lord Jesus, our Savior, You have made Your mother Mary a faithful follower of God's law and a chosen member of Your Church.

We like everything to be black and white. We don't like grey areas, but it seems to me that life is mostly lived in grey areas as we struggle to reach truth.

Save us, Christ our Savior, by the virtue of Your holy Cross: You Who saved Peter in the sea, have mercy upon us.

Generous God, for all that sustains us; air to breath, warmth and light, food to eat, water to drink, we offer our thanks and praise.

O my God and my all, in Your goodness and mercy, grant that before I die I may regain all the graces which I have lost through my carelessness and folly.

Father in Heaven, You made me Your child and called me to walk in the Light of Christ. Free me from darkness and keep me in the Light of Your Truth.

Lord God, we praise you for creating man, and still more for restoring him in Christ.

O most Holy Virgin, immaculate in body and spirit, look kindly on me as I implore your powerful intercession.

Dear God, I spend so much time reliving yesterday or anticipating tomorrow that I lose sight of the only time that is really mine, the present moment.

Father all-powerful, your gifts of love are countless and your goodness infinite.

O God, mercy and forgiveness are Yours by nature and by right. Receive our humble petitions.

The many colors of autumn remind us of the great variety in your creation, each having value and worth.

Father in Heaven, when the Spirit came down upon Jesus at His Baptism in the Jordan, You revealed Him as Your own Beloved Son.

O glorious St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, you did provide for the Holy Family. We commit to your protection all our crops and farm industries.

Jesus, help us to ponder in our hearts over the many ways you show your love in our lives, and lead us to walk with your mother as we follow you each day.

Dear Jesus, the stark beauty of sunset startles me. The death of a dear friend stuns me. I cannot grasp the wonder of it all. You call me to be still and trust.

Dear Mary, my holy mother, I love you so much and I give you my heart. Help me to love God. Help me to love my neighbor as a child of God.
