Jesus, a Poem

John baptizing Jesus

Baptized and confirmed,
in your word formed,
disciple and missionary
it is the gift of your calling.
You make me go through every town that you have walked,
You look me up, down,
You see my inside and outside,
brother, faithful companion,
in every village you wait for me.

Baptism at the riverLook at you again,
and continue without tiring,
place my feet on your footprints, that you left for me,
look at, stop, shut up,
listen to you who speaks to me,
I am a mute in your potency,
that was invited to advertise you,
there is no way to silence you,
but to go out to proclaim you.

What I have seen and heard,
what I have lived and collected,
what I have always shared,
what always goes with me,
Jesus Lord of History
savior gift spilled,
to his beloved creation.

Baptized in the Jordan,
all water was consecrated,
over every temptation,
it all started in Galilee.
For every trail and village,
in every challenge encountered,
in every person remained:
everything has done well.

His justice in the Father,
it was the love without measure,
which led to rejection,
to abuse and death,
all this would end,
our history would be different,
but God raised him up,
Jesus lives among us!
He is the Lord of history,
Lord of yesterday, today, and forever.
