O God, mercy and forgiveness are Yours by nature and by right. Receive our humble petitions. Though we are bound tightly by the chain of our sins, set us free by the power of Your great mercy. Amen.

The many colors of autumn remind us of the great variety in your creation, each having value and worth. Fill us with a sense of wonder and praise for the manifold signs of your love and presence in all creatures. Let us respect and protect them from those that may bring them harm. Your glory shines through what you have made. Amen – Columban Fr. John Comiskey

Father in Heaven, when the Spirit came down upon Jesus at His Baptism in the Jordan, You revealed Him as Your own Beloved Son. Keep me, Your child, born of water and the Spirit, faithful to my calling. May I, who share in Your Life as Your child through Baptism, follow in Christ's path of service to people. Let me become one in His Sacrifice and hear His Word with faith. May I live as Your child, following the example of Jesus.

O glorious St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, you did provide for the Holy Family. We commit to your protection all our crops and farm industries. We beseech you, to intercede in our behalf with Almighty God, Who rules the seasons, so that our fields being safe from pests and favored by the weather may yield abundant crops that will allow us to supply the wants of life. Thus freed from earthly worries may we after your example apply all our thoughts to eternal life. We beseech you to instill a love of the land into the hearts of our youth for their own salvation and that of Christian unity so that we may all share hereafter in the same blissful life you enjoy in heaven. Amen.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen.

You are with us in all we say and do. Yet we can forget your presence and get caught up with the many distractions and false gods that beset us. We can forget that others are part of our lives. We can easily ignore or worse condemn the poor, the abandoned, the exiles and those whose beliefs differ from our own. Show us how to open our hearts and bear each other’s burdens. Amen – Columban Fr. John Comiskey

Jesus, help us to ponder in our hearts over the many ways you show your love in our lives, and lead us to walk with your mother as we follow you each day. Jesus, we praise you, for you are our Lord and our God for ever and ever. Amen!

Dear Jesus, the stark beauty of sunset startles me. The death of a dear friend stuns me. I cannot grasp the wonder of it all. You call me to be still and trust. Let the waves of feeling wash over me and bring healing and hope. Amen – By Columban Fr. John Comiskey

Dear Mary, my holy mother, I love you so much and I give you my heart. Help me to love God. Help me to love my neighbor as a child of God. Help me to love myself as a child of God. Amen

Dear Sacred Heart of Jesus, I love You so much and I give You my heart. Help me to love God. Help me to love my neighbor as a child of God. Help me to love myself as a child of God. Amen

Christ, the only-begotten Son of the unbegotten Father, who this day was slain for us, the innocent for the ungodly, remember the price of Your Blood and blot out the sins of all Your people; and as You are pleased to endure for us reproaches, spitting, bonds, blows, the scourge, the Cross, the nails, the bitter cup, death, the spear, and lastly burial, save us wretched ones, for whom You suffered this, the infinite blessedness of the heavenly kingdom, that we who bow down in reverence for Your Passion may be raised up to things heavenly in the joys of Your resurrection. Amen.

O everlasting and loving God, I consecrate myself wholly to you today. Let all my days offer you ceaseless praise, My hands move to the rhythm of your impulses, My feet be swift in your service, My voice sing constantly of you, My lips proclaim your message, My eyes perceive you everywhere, And my ears be attuned to your inspirations. May my intellect be filled with your wisdom, My will be moved by your beauty, My heart be enraptured with your love, And my soul be flooded with your grace. Grant that every action of mine be done For your greater glory.

My Lord, Jesus Christ I offer You, this day, all my work, my hopes and struggles, my joys and sorrows. Grant me, and all my fellow workers, the grace to think like You, to work with You, and to live in You. Help me to love You with all my heart, and to serve You with all my strength.

Behold me, my beloved Jesus, weighed down under the burden of my trials and sufferings, I cast myself at Your feet, that You may renew my strength and my courage, while I rest here in Your Presence. Permit me to lay down my cross in Your Sacred Heart, for only Your infinite goodness can sustain me; only Your love can help me bear my cross; only Your powerful hand can lighten its weight. O Divine King, Jesus, whose heart is so compassionate to the afflicted, I wish to live in You; suffer and die in You. During my life be to me my model and my support; At the hour of my death, be my hope and my refuge. Amen.
