In August, as summer lingers, the warmth of the season reminds us of God’s welcoming love. Christian mission is deeply rooted in hospitality — the open heart that says, “You are welcome here.” Scripture teaches, “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some have entertained angels” (Hebrews 13:2).
Hospitality is more than offering food or shelter; it is the posture of Christ’s heart toward the world. Jesus welcomed sinners, healed outsiders, and dined with those society rejected. When we open our homes, our churches, and our lives, we become reflections of His inclusive love.
This month, let us practice mission through kindness. Invite a neighbor, comfort a newcomer, or serve someone in need. True evangelism often begins at the table, where grace is shared and barriers fall away. The heart of God’s mission beats in every gesture that says, “You belong.”
