Our Turn

Treasure hidden in a field

By A Columban Missionary

Matthew 13:44-46 and 6:21

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

A rosary laying across a bibleThis week we explore two powerful parables from Jesus and how they shape our priorities. We are reminded that where our treasure is, there is where our hearts will be also. These verses challenge us to examine where our hearts truly lie. Are we chasing fleeting earthly treasures in our personal lives? Are we actively seeking how our church is being invited to serve God in new, exciting ways? How we can "do more" for God’s Kingdom? As we consider our response to God's call, these scriptures invite us to evaluate our personal priorities and invest in what truly matters.

Prayer

Almighty God, may our hearts find true treasure in you and your love. Help us to set our hearts on the things above. Guide us to “Imagine More” to make a difference in the world. Amen.
