Lord Jesus, You stood in the synagogue and declared
that the Spirit of the Lord was upon You
to bring glad tidings to the poor.
Today, we ask for that same Spirit to rest upon us.
Open our eyes to see the needs of those around us
and give us the strength to be Your hands and feet.
May Your Word be fulfilled in us today through our acts of charity.
