Father in Heaven, teach me to recognize
that discipleship begins with listening.
In the midst of responsibilities and distractions,
create within me a quiet place where Your word can take root.
Help me listen to Scripture, to those who need understanding,
and to the gentle movements of Your Spirit.
May my actions flow from prayerful attention,
and may my life reflect what I have heard from You.
Amen.
