O Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Zarvaniza,
I thank you for the gift of my visit to Kyivan Rus
a medieval land from which the light of the Gospel
first spread through Eastern Europe.
As I stand before your miraculous icon
in this church of Saint Nicholas,
I place in your care, Mother of God
and Mother of the Church,
my mission and journey to Ukraine.
Holy Mother of God, spread your loving protection
over all Christians and over all people of good will
who live in this great nation.
Guide them to your Son, Jesus,
who is the way, the truth and the life for all.
Amen.
