St. Maria Goretti, young and steadfast,
you chose forgiveness and purity even in the face of violence.
Pray for me that I may guard my heart against the pressures
of a world that often mocks virtue.
Give me your courage to remain faithful to Christ regardless of cost,
and your mercy to forgive those who wound me.
Lord Jesus, may I never underestimate the power
of a single faithful "yes" to you.
