God of mercy and compassion,
John the Baptist called your people
to repentance and preparation.
We hear his voice echoing through the centuries,
calling us to examine our lives and turn back to you.
Give us honest hearts that can acknowledge
our sins without despair.
Grant us the grace of true contrition
and the strength to change our ways.
Prepare our hearts to welcome Your Son anew,
that this Advent may be a season
of genuine spiritual renewal and transformation.
