St. Anthony, you left the comforts of the world
to seek God in the silence of the desert.
You faced the assaults of the enemy with prayer and fasting.
Intercede for us, that we may not be seduced
by the material riches of this age.
Grant us the discipline to conquer our vices
and the spiritual clarity to see God’s presence
in the "desert" moments of our own lives.
