Merciful God, You heard the ceaseless prayers
of Saint Monica and brought her son,
Saint Augustine, from darkness into light.
Give us her perseverance in prayer
and her steadfast hope in Your promises.
Hear the cries of all mothers and fathers
who intercede for their children.
Teach us to never stop praying for those we love.
