God of truth and holiness,
Saint John the Baptist prepared hearts
for Christ’s coming through
repentance and courageous preaching.
Help us turn away from sin and live lives
worthy of the Gospel.
Grant us boldness to speak truth with love and humility.
May we decrease so that Christ may increase within us.
Through sincere conversion and faithful witness,
help us prepare the world to receive the Savior with joy.
