Loving Father, as we begin this sacred season of Advent,
awaken in our hearts a spirit of watchfulness and anticipation.
Help us to prepare room for Your Son, Jesus Christ,
in the dwelling place of our souls.
May we cast aside the distractions that keep us
from recognizing your presence in our daily lives.
Guide us to be people of hope who look forward
with joyful expectation to the coming of our Savior,
both in this season and at the end of time.
Amen.
